Industry Liaison Committee

To decarbonise Western Australia, we must cut emissions in the Pilbara. That’s why the State Government has developed the Pilbara Energy Transition (PET) Plan - accelerating decarbonisation by facilitating the delivery of large-scale, common use transmission infrastructure to unlock the region’s strong wind and solar resources. Industry participation is key to the PET Plan. The Industry Liaison Committee (ILC) was created to facilitate collaboration between Government and industry in the Pilbara, bringing together a range of industry and State Government stakeholders to work together to support regional decarbonisation.
Working with Industry in the Pilbara
The ILC was re-established following a meeting of the Pilbara Roundtable on June 14 2024. The ILC is working to inform the progression of the energy transition in the Pilbara through the development of a better understanding of the issues facing the energy industry, resources sector and new industries in the region.

The ILC membership includes representatives from various State Government agencies, including but not limited to PoweringWA, Department of Energy and Economic Diversification; Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Industry; Department of Premier and Cabinet; Department of Treasury; Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage; and Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
